Product Details

Horn as a raw material has been used since antiquity right up until today for a wide range of everyday products because it is cheap, readily available and easliy cut and shaped after immersion in hot water. Throughout antiquity horn was used to make many everyday domestic items including eating utensils.

Horn has been used to make a vast range of items ever since cattle were first domesticated and our simple cow horn tumbler has been carefully designed so that it cannot be atributed to any particular era or culture yet is generic enough to be used for any.

This particular horn has a plian natural horn finish.

We can source a wide variety of different sized eating utensls made from cow horn. The horn is sourced from domestic cattle and meets New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries standards.

This beer tankard has been boiled and cleaned thoroughly, waterproofed and then polished. so you can drink from it straight away although we recommend a quick clean with warm water before you use it for the first time. It has a capacity of about 750 ml.

Also cleaning your tankard with some form of natural oil occassionally will increase its life, Being a natural product the shape and colour will vary from item to item.
