Our leather tankard is made from thick rawhide (from humanely sluaghtered domestic cattle) and has been treated with beeswax on the inside to water proof it.

Leather drinking vessels like this were used alongside horn drinking vessels from the earliest times but the style og these tankards is more associated with the 17th century onwards - in partcular for sailors and dock side taverrns.

The tankard is 16 cm high and apprximately 9 cm diameter at the base. It has a capacity of 350 ml to 400 ml.

Suitable for any cold drink and the beeswax does not transfer into the beverage. However we would advise against using it for watm or hot liquids as this may cause the beeswax to melt.
