The plate greaves cover tthe vulnerable front of the lower legs from the base of the knee to the instep. It can be worn as a standalone item or over maille chausses,.
We find in mounted reenactment combat or in mass foot combat that the lower legs are vulnerable and the plate greaves helps to mitigate all but the strongest blows.
The greaves are made from 1.6mm steel and come with a polished finish, leather straps and replica generic medieval buckles.
They are 39cm long from the top of the outside edge to the bottom of the ankle.
They can be worn in conjunction with most of our plate cuisses.
