This is another really solid medieval brass buckle with an intricate design designed for a belt - 20 mm - 25 mm wide.
The detail on the buckle has to be seen to be believed. One of my own belts uses one (see photos).
There are brass lugs on the back of the buckle which can be pushed through holes in a leather strap and hammered back on themselves (over a washer or similar) to secure the buckle to the strap.
