This is our flagship tankard. It s available in three sizes (L - approxiamtely 650 ml, XL - approximately 900 ml and XXL - 1 litre plus1)
The base of the tankard is made from wood which has been glued to the horn wall and sealed. The interior of the tankard has been coated with a food grade varmish to provide additional protection. It is suitable for most liquids although we do not recommend anything hotter than lukewarm as hot liquids will degrade the varnish and may cause leakage.
Wash the tankard in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and avoid using a dishwasher.
For a longer life span treat with beeswax from time to time, Please note this is a natural product that decays with time and hence, cracks may appear although we had have been using ours for over 5 years without any problems.
The base of the tankard may leak after a period of time because the varnish may wear away with use. We add another coat of varnish around the bottom of each tankard to what the manufacturer has already done before we send a tankard to a customer. So the varnish should last for a long time before it needs to be recoated.
