Massive horns of this size are popular with deer hunters (who convert them into roaring horns) and also with re-enactors as a signalling horn to rally people to either feast or battle! Our Extra Large Horns are about 400 mm - 500 mm long and have an approximate capacity from bout - 1 litre up to 2.5 litres!
Being a natural product the shape and colour will vary from item to item and the photo is indicative of the horns that we currently have in stock. Also the capacity is very variable as the larger the horn, small changes in length, shape and mouth circumference have a huge effect on the capacity. Because of this, if you have a specific purpose for the horn please let us know so we can select the most appropriate horn for you.
They are also too big to fit any of our stands so they come with a leather belt holder instread.
These horns are also purchased by buyers to convert into blowing horns. During the Roar, they are purchased by deer hunters. Re-enactors also purchase them to convert into blowing horns. If you plan to convert one into blowing horn then you can do this by carefully cutting awat the tip. We do not do this for you.
The horns have been boiled and cleaned thoroughly, waterproofed and then polished. so you can drink out of them straight away although we reconmmend a quick rinse with warm water before you use them for the first time.
Also cleaning your drinking horn with some form of natural oil occassionally will increase its life.
