This tankard with an engraved Celtic Triquetra has been boiled and cleaned thoroughly, waterproofed and then polished. so you can drink from it straight away although we recommend a quick clean with warm water before you use it for the first time. It has a capacity of about 750 ml so can take a standard can of beer with ease.

An ancient Celtic symbol, the triquetra is considered one of the oldest; dating back to as early as 500 BC when it was used to symbolize the triple goddess (maiden-mother-crone). Over the centuries it has become the symbol for the Holy Trinity among Christians in Ireland. The symbol is often used to represent the 3 fundamental elements – air, water, and earth or the infinite cycle of life. It is also known as a rune of protection.

The triquetra design in the tankard in the photos has had a paint infill to bring out the detail. This does not come with the tankard but we can do this for you as an upgrade.

You can add either a brown or black leather belt bolder that hooks through the horn's handle as an accessory.

Also cleaning your tankard with beeswax occassionally will increase its life, Being a natural product the shape and colour will vary from item to item.
