Shields were among the most essential defensive tools used in medieval warfare, providing protection against swords, arrows, and blunt-force weapons. During the Middle Ages, warriors relied heavily on shields not only for survival in battle but also as symbols of identity.
Today, shields remain popular for historical reenactments, LARP combat, stage use, training and historical displays. Their iconic shapes and strong visual presence make them an important component of authentic medieval gear.
Our shield collection includes two primary categories: bucklers and shields.
Bucklers are compact and lightweight, for quick movement and close combat defense. Historically used alongside swords or daggers, bucklers allowed fighters to deflect strikes and control engagements while maintaining agility.
Shields on the other hand, give broader coverage and were commonly used by soldiers and warriors for battlefield protection. These shields helped defend larger portions of the body and were often used in formations or mounted combat.
