Product Details

This is a very well handcrafted reproduction of the bascinet helmet used in the late 14th century and early 15th century. It has a solid bulbous visor which allows for thrusting blows to be deflected away from the front of the head and face. This makes it an ideal helmet for jousting or for any form of foot combat where thrusting blows are allowed.

It is made from either 1.6mm (16 guage) or 2 mm (14 guage) mild steel and is made with a 68 cm forehead circumference so it will fit most head sizes..

A leather liner is provided and this can be adjusted so the helmet can comfortably fit most head shapes.

Just attach one of our maille aventails or standards (sold separately) to its brass vervelles, and you will get an optimum combination in terms of looks and functionality for protecting your head and neck.

Price includes GST and tracked postage  within New Zealand.
