Product Details

These Ankle Boots, handcrafted from genuine leather, were quite common from the 9th - 15th centuries so they are the most popular boots with reenactors because of their versitility. These ankle-high shoes, with their side-laced closure, are based on archaeological finds.

Worn in Europe from the 9th to 15th century, these ankle boots were the standard footwear for both men and women, from peasants to merchants. Their simple design makes them lightweight and extremely comfortable for long days at markets and fairs.

Each pair is hand-stitched and made with genuine leather. Whether you’re preparing for a Viking festival, Renaissance fair, or your LARP event, these medieval shoes will give your outfit a period correct look.

Avaliable in Brown or Black and price is indicative.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

These boots have a historically accurate flat leather sole so they are not designed for modern surfaces like gravel or concrete. For longevity and comfort, we recommend:

  • Cleaning: Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt. Do not soak. Avoid harsh chemicals or modern shoe polishes.
  • Conditioning: Regularly apply natural leather balm or conditioner to prevent the leather from cracking.
  • Drying: If wet let it air dry. Do not place near a heater, in direct sunlight, or use a hairdryer, this may cause warping.
  • Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place. Stuff with clean cloth or paper to retain shape.

Sizing Note: Our medieval footwear follows men’s sizing. Since these boots are unisex, women are advised to use a men’s-to-women’s size conversion chart to find their best fit.
