Multiple Colours and Sizes available. Sizes are in New Zealand footwear men's size. Women's shoe sizes are one less than the men's size. If you are unsure it is usually best to order a size up.
Our 12th to 15th century ankle boot are based on period illustrations and are fashioned with an overlap closure and secured with 3 buckled straps. The uppers are made from 3 mm leather and the nailed on sole from 4 - 5 mm leather.
Prior to the 12th century shoes commonly fastened with either toggles or leather ties. After the 12th century the wealth of the individual dictated the fastening of the shoe. Metal was expensive and only the wealthier classes could afford to wear buckles on their shoes. Based on archaeological finds, buckles on shoes appear to have become more common later in the 14th and 15th century.

We can't stock a full range of colours and sizes because of the wide range of options available. Please contact us and we will place an order for you. Please allow up to 90 days for delivery and we require a 50% non-refundable deposit when we place the order.
