Bone combs were used in both the Viking period and almost until modern times as common personal grooming tools. We can source a wide variety of different sized combs made from bone. The bone is sourced from domestic cattle and meets New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries import standards.
The large bone comb is about 15 cm long.It is ideal for all historical re-enactors who want to extend their kit by including common everyday personal items or for anybody really who wants to use a neat, hand crafter natural comb as opposed to a modern mass produced plastic one.
The bone comb has been boiled and cleaned thoroughl so you can use it straight away. Also cleaning your comb with some form of natural oil occassionally will increase its life. Being a natural product the shape and colour will vary from item to item.
