Product Details

This is an authentic late medieval and Renaissance 16th Century German Mace, hand-forged from steel. It shows the raw strength and practical design of weapons once used by Landsknechts and German foot soldiers.

Flanged maces first appeared in the 10th - 11th centuries, this later version is the epitome of this weapon's evolution.

The solid flanged head, finished in matte black, was made to crush or pierce armor, giving it both a fearsome look and true historical accuracy. A strong metal shaft adds durability and weight, while the leather-wrapped grip offers a secure, comfortable hold. The long leather lanyard strap keeps it safe at your side and helps prevent accidental drops during use or displays.

Weighing about 1.5 kg, this mace has the real feel of its historical versions, making it a great piece for stage combat, medieval fairs, or private collections. Whether hung on a wall, carried with armor, or displayed at events, it adds striking historical presence.

Ideal For:

  • Collectors of medieval & Renaissance arms
  • Museum displays & educational exhibits
  • Theatre props & costume accessories
  • Festivals & fairs

Care Instructions:

  • Wipe metal with a lightly oiled cloth to prevent rust.
  • Keep away from moisture; store in a cool, dry place.
  • Treat leather grip and lanyard with balm to keep it supple.

Notes:

  • Because this is an impact weapon, we do not recommend it for any form of medieval combat reenactment.
  • This mace is hand-forged by skilled artisans. Small differences in size, shape, or finish are natural and add to its authenticity.
