Product Video - 15th Century Gorget with Falling Buff Bevor
The sallet style of helmet was very popular in the 15th century but it had one major weakness - no protection for the lower face or throat.
Buy this with any of our Kettle Hats or our Sallet style helmet to provide the maximum protective and visability that this combination offers.
Gorgets with bevors to protect these areas were developed to address this problem. This particular example works for most types of sallet and 15th century kettle hats.
This is another superbly made piece of armour from Lord of Battles. The "Falling Buff" is an affitional top plate in the bevor that allows it to be dropped in an open position to allow more air around the face or closed during battle for affitional protection. It can be worn with our Sallets or 15th century Kettle Hats and is a natural complement to these helmets. The Buff is opened and closed by a pressing the side of the bevor to allow it to slide up our down over a stud that holds the top plate in either a raised or lowered position.
