14th - 15th century segmented poleyn (knee armour) to make your own splinted or brigandine leg harness or wear by itself.
Plate protection for the knees and elbows first appeared in the late 13th century. This 4 piece articulating plate poleyn is suitable for any late 14th to mid/late 15th century harness. It is made from 16 guage (1.6mm) mild steel and is suitable for most forms of re-enactment combat.
It is also ideal for making your own splinted or brigadine leg harness.
The articulation provides great movement around the knee and each poleyn comes with 3 leather straps with medieval buckles to attach it to the wearer's leg. The inside is painted black for rust resistence.
