Product Details

The arming girdle or lendenier was used to secure a maille skirt or to suspend leg harness (either padded chausses, maille chausses or plate cuisses.

Of all the various types of arming clothes, this was probably the most critical as badly secured leg armour will impede your mobility and tire you out very fast. The expertly designed classic C shape belt will distribute the weight accurately around your waist and help you carry the heavy mail and plate armour comfortably on your hips without overburdening or overtightening your waist. Its design is inspired by the  historical lendenier from the 12th-15th centuries.

This padded belt really makes the difference when you are wearing your leg armour directly from that instead of wearing it from your belt. The latter slides down and cuts into your hips whereas the lendenier does not move, keeping your leg harness in the correct place.

The lendenier laced up the back to secure the tighest and most comfortable fit. It has a double row of hand sewn eyelets which allows the garment to be adjusted when tighened by about 4 to 5 cm. The opens are secured by a large lacing cord with brass aiglets.

There are 4 other lacing cords also with brass aiglets to attach the leg harness to.

Available in black or off-white.

Price includes GST and tracked postage within New Zealand.
