Product Details

Lamellar armour is a type of armour made from small rectangular plates (scales or lamellae) of iron or steel, leather or bronze laced into horizontal rows. Lamellar armour was used over a wide range of time periods in Central Asia, Western Asia and Eastern Europe. The earliest evidence for lamellar armour comes from sculpted artwork of the Neo-Assyrian Empire (911 - 609 BCE) in the Near East.

Our Lord of Battles 9th - 11th Century  Lamellar Cuirass is based on historical interpretations of some lamellar scales from Birka (an important Viking trading centre in moden day Sweden.

This piece of art is intricately handcrafted from tough 20 gauge mild steel plates, sewn together using genuine leather strings. The entire structure of this armour is fixed on genuine leather backing, making it hard-wearing. This cuirass is available in three sizes: medium, large and extra-large.
