Product Details

Our bone needles are ideal for living history enthusiasts who want their stitchwork to more closely resemble historical stitching (modern sewing machines and steel needles give a totally different look to actual survivng examples of historical clothing), for re-enactors wanting a repair kit or for any handicrafts enthusiast who wants to get a more period look.

Along with horn, bone was commonly used to fashion domestic items and tools because unlike modern practices, nothing was wasted in previous eras. Our bone prodicts are sourced from 100% domestic cattle that have been throughly cleaned.

Its total length is 7 cm and is made of ethically sourced bone. While being made from hand, strong attention to detail has always been kept so that the needle glides through the cloth and makes for a terrific historical experience.

While the bone is hard, it is not as hard as modern steel needles so may break with rough use.

These are sold in sets of 5
