Product Video - Brass Torc

Torcs (neck rings) were popular items of dress during The Dark Ages and Viking Times. They are aso assoicated with the Celts.

The design of this particular torc is based on a Viking arm band found in the Russian Kremlin horde of Prince Vladimir. It was probably made in Gotland during the 10th - 11th centuries. It then ended up in Russia and was buried with Prince Valdimir in Moscow in 1238 when the Mongol Hordes were at the gates of Moscow. The horde remained hidden until its discovery in 1988.

The neck ring has an internal diameter of about 15 cm and is 45 cm long from the end of each of the wolf head terminals. The twisted brass wire construction makes it easy to adjust the torc to suit the wearer.
