This late medieval hammer axe combines the lethal efficiency of the warhammer to overcome plate armour and an axe head to defeat maille or padded armour types.
It can also be used for less violent purposes such has hammering in nails or splitting wood for fire. So it was of the most utilitarian weapons from the Middle Ages.
The axe head is hand forged from EN45 carbon steel and has a hammer-like projection at the end with a cloverleaf cut out and a semi-sharp axe head which can be dulled further for reenactment combat for sharpened for cutting.
The handle is made from tough teak wood and the total of this axe is approximately 63 cm.
