Product Details

A historically accurate 13th - 15th century arrow bag for your medieval archer outfit. The cylindrical open topped quivers portrayed in medieval and fantasy films were never used by medieval Europeans.

Instead arrows were carried in canvas bags which had a leather or wooden spacer to keep the delicate feather flights from being knocked around. The canvas outer bag can be drawn closed to protect the arrows from rain and any debris that could cause damage to them.

This was an entremely practical and easy design to manufacture and it is depicted in many illustrations of the time.

Period illustrations show a variery of sizes. Some were large and may have contained as many as 100 arrows. Our one is made for the lightly armoured and armed archer whose speed and mobility won so many battles in medieval times. Archers would typically carry or or two of these arrow bags which could be secured to a belt or slung over the back.

The quiver will easily carry 12 arrows and is made from canvas with a leather spacer.
