The Lorica Segmentata was a type of segmented metal armour used exclusively by the Roman empire.
This armour consists of broad steel plates fastened to thick leather straps which are arranged horizontally on the body overlapping downwards. The fittings that close the various plates plates together are made of brass and the cuirass is tied together front and back with leather thongs. The upper body and shoulder are protected by shoulder plates.
