This is another really solid medieval brass buckle with an intricate design designed for a belt - 20 mm - 25 mm wide.
The detail on the buckle has to be seen to be believed.
There are brass lugs on the back of the buckle which can be pushed through holes in a leather strap and hammered back on themselves (over a washer or similar) to secure the buckle to the strap.
