Lord of Battles provides Aluminium maille to the international film industry where it is regarded as the most authentic looking alternative to iron maille in the world. Actors and stunt men do not need the protection offered by iron maille and neither do LARPers.
It is handmade from dome riveted 16 gauge round Aluminium rings, each with an internal diameter of approximately 10 mm. The light mail looks like real armor but without the heavyweight of Iron maille. That’s why it is especially popular for LARP, Movie Props and as Theatre Costume.
Unlike Iron maille, Aluminium maille does not rust. However it is not as strong as iron maille so should not be used for anything other than good prop costume, LARP activites or choroegraphed fighting which involves no more than light contact.
Like with our Iron maille items prices vary depending on garment size and construction method. The larger the garment the more expensive it is. We can provide sizes M, L, XL and XXL.
Prices within each type of garment vary because of garment size and type of maille used.
Proceedure for Ordering Alumimium Maille Items
We do not hold Aluminium maille in stock. We can also get other types of maille garments like coifs made as well. If you would like to order an Alumiinum maille item, please contact us with your requirements. We will then get a quote and a delivery time estimate from our supplier. We will then require a 50% non-refundable deposit before we place your order.
