Historically swords were carried in scabbarbs which were probably discarded or left somewhere safe before battle. A modern solution is the sword frog which which is suspended from a belt and the weapon threaded through a narrow leather tube with adjustable leather tongs to provide a snug fit for the weapon.
This is also angled so the sword is suspended so it won't interfere with your movement.
This frog with double belt strap is for single handed and hand and a half swords. It is 25 cm by 11 cm (including belt straps).
Available in black or brown leather and in either right or left hand versions.
Ideal for anybody practising any form of medival combat.
